What a beautiful slab!
Let’s create your one-of-a-kind, custom sign.
Type what your Sign Is To Read. You can include up to four lines of text. Make sure you double check the spelling for accuracy; we will carve exactly what is written here. Text size will vary depending on the number of letters, style and importance (for example, in the “Casa Gonzalez” sample, “Gonzalez” is more important and larger than “Casa”).
Choose your preferred Text Style. Examples of each style— Straight, Lower Arc, Banner or Arch —are pictured above for reference. If you have no preference, select Carver’s Choice, and your expert sign carver will choose the layout they think will look best based off their experience, your slab, the amount of text, and artwork.
Choose your preferred artwork Scene. There are three scene styles: Forest, Desert and Beach. The samples above show examples of each scene style. Each scene can be customized to include the animals or images of your choice. Select None if you would like no artwork, or Custom Image for custom artwork. Your scene or custom artwork will be arranged according to the lettering style chosen, available space and your carver’s best judgement.
In the Special Request box, make your requests to customize your scene or artwork. You can be general or specific (for example, “I want a picture of a bird,” or “I want a picture of a Bald eagle”), or choose from any existing designs from our Classic Signs. We will contact you if there are any issues with your request that we cannot accommodate, or if we need clarity. If you do not want any artwork on your sign, only lettering, type, “No artwork.”
If you would like to send us a rough sketch of your desired layout, your own artwork, or have a logo or image you would like us to replicate, Upload your sketch or jpeg. In some instances, custom artwork will require an additional fee, depending on the detail and time it will take to carve. We will contact you if we need clarification, to add a custom art fee, or if we cannot accommodate your request.

Wood & Finish
What is the difference between knotty pine and redwood?
Knotty Pine can be white or yellow, and typically has visible knots throughout, as the name implies. Pine is more economical than redwood, but keep in mind redwood is typically going to last much longer than pine, especially outdoors. That being said, pine signs will look great and last years indoors, and with proper care, can last outdoors for years as well. But direct sunlight, temperature fluctuation and exposure to moisture will quickly age the appearance of the sign and, over time, the strength of it as well.
Redwood can have anywhere from a light to deep red color, and sometimes is two-toned with yellow. Knots are common but less so than pine. Other than the color, the biggest difference between the two is longevity. Redwood can last for decades,* even outdoors! The natural oils in redwood make it more resistant to pests like termites, and help protect it from damaging sun rays and inclement weather.
What is the difference between Interior and Exterior Finish?
Finish is the treatment that seals the wood to protect it.
Interior finish is used to treat signs going indoors. It is high gloss and applied to the face and all edges of the sign, leaving the back untreated. There is no charge for this service.
Exterior finish is used to treat signs going outdoors. We use semi gloss spar urethane, which protects the sign from harmful UV rays, fluctuations in temperature and moisture. It is applied to the entire sign—front, back and all edges. Signs receiving exterior finish will take an extra 1-2 days of processing time before the sign is ready to ship. Pricing for this service begins at $10, depending on the size of the sign.
* Not all signs will last decades, as wood is a natural product. The lifespan of all wood signs may vary.
Shipping & Returns
All of our signs are made to order and the time it takes to make your sign can vary depending on the complexity and size of the project.
All Classic and Live Edge signs are usually made and ready to ship within 3-4 business days, then ship USPS Priority Mail, 1-3 day. We currently only ship to the United States.
We do our best to ensure that each sign is a high-quality product that you will love. We stand behind our work. If you are unsatisfied with your order for any reason, let us know within 7 days of the delivery date. If we cannot fix the original, we will remake your sign or provide a refund.
Wood is a natural product that contains variations in color and grain and often contains knots, cracks and blemishes. These are to be expected in any wooden product, including our signs. We will check for large cracks that compromise the structural integrity of your sign before carving it. Our wood signs commonly have small cracks that do not effect the strength of the sign, knots and blemishes, as well as variations in color and grain from sample products, that add to their rustic look.
We take great pride in our craftsmanship. Our work is 100% carved freehand, so no two signs will look exactly alike. Everyone has unique handwriting; the same goes for our hand-carving. Slight variations in lettering and artwork style will vary by carver.
We hope you love our products as much as we love making them! We are very passionate about what we do and work hard to make the best hand-carved signs you can find. If your order arrives damaged or defective, if we made an error, or if for any reason you are unsatisfied with our craftsmanship, please let us know within 7 days of receiving your order, and we will do whatever we can to make it right!
